A weight loss cleanse can be easier to follow than a diet which can be time consuming.  In addition, cleansing will help you clear built up toxins that can be stored in fatty areas and when done right, may help you reset your metabolism.  As you cleanse, you can find out what foods make you feel tired and sick and what foods keep your energy up.

Your weight loss cleanse can be made easier when you keep things simple.  Forget the measuring or counting calories.  By following these steps, you no longer have to read and analyze fat grams, calories or sodium.  You will also learn how healthy eating and nutrition can give you the energy and metabolism that keeps weight off for good.

Step 1 - Quit eating all junk food.  All of us know what they are.  The list includes; ice cream, chips, sodas, candies, french fries, and fat foods (I meant fast foods).  These foods are loaded with fat hoarding chemicals than can get stored in fat tissues and make you look more bloated.  And they may even interfere with thyroid function.  They add weight and may even make it very difficult to lose weight.

Step 2 - Eat as few processed foods as possible.  This means foods that are packaged and/or pre-made designed to save time.  Do a reality check and see if it really does save you time.  For example, you can chop some lettuce and veggies to throw a salad together in about the same time it takes to open and heat a can of soup.  If you really do want the packaged food, look for the equivalent at a health food store.  Check the ingredients - the less your food has, the better.  More ingredients means more processing.  A weight loss cleanse should help your body eliminate harmful ingredients.

Step 3 - Make the bulk of your meals fresh and whole.  Eat mostly fruits and veggies.  After that eat protein the size of your palm and 1/2 a serving of grains such as wild rice.  Put the food on your plate and make sure 1/2 to 3/4 of the plate is filled with vegetables.  None of these foods will have labels because they are whole, natural foods.  If you use sauces to cook with, keep them to a minimum and try to find organic if possible.  Drink only water and herbal teas.

Step 4 - Take fiber supplements twice a day such as psyllium or crushed flax seeds.  Fiber supplements add bulk to help your body remove excess waste.  They also absorb toxins from the intestinal tract.  Also, taking your fiber 10-15 minutes before meals may help you feel fuller, sooner.

Step 5 - While on your weight loss cleanse, add to your nutrition.  Start by taking whole food vitamins so you are getting all of your nutrients.  A “whole food” version ensures your body can utilize most of the nutrients and you don’t have to worry about toxic side effects.  Another supplement to include are Essential Fatty Acids, or EFA’s.  These are fats that your body needs for healthy brain function, to balance hormones, keep joints supple, keep your hair and skin healthy and they help you lose weight.

Step 6 - Exercise daily using a circuit training method.  Circuit training is said to burn more fat and can help make your exercise routing more effective.  Exercise raises your metabolism, stimulates circulation, elevates mood and can help your lymph clear toxins including excess waste (or weight).

Circuit train at home by using resistance exercise alternating with aerobic exercise.  You don’t even need to buy special equipment if you don’t want to.  First, put on music to help you get pumped up.  Then choose about six resistance exercise like push-ups, lunges, or jump squats.  Keep a goal of doing three sets for each exercise of 9-15 reps each.  Start by doing one set of resistance exercise followed by one minute of cardio such as running in place, exercise bike if you have one, jumping jacks or rebounding.  Then do another set of resistance followed by another set of cardio (aerobics) and so on until you have done 30-40 minutes of exercise.

Make a list of these six steps and put them where you will see them each day.  Stay away from restaurants for now.  Try collecting recipes to help you stay away from fast foods.  There are many free ones on the net.  Help yourself with a weight loss cleanse so you are ready for summer with a healthier body and mind.
